BIO

Hello, my name is Jaime Rial
From a very young age, I’ve been fascinated by music, film, and musical theatre. I was fortunate to have both my grandparents as musicians, with my grandmother teaching piano at the Conservatories of Granada and Malaga until her retirement and my grandfather being a professor of Musicology at the University of Granada.

Composition has been an integral part of my musical journey since a young age. At 14, I wrote a humorous self-introduction song titled «My name is Jaime,» which became popular among my schoolmates. At 16, I began taking music composition seriously. I received an A grade in music upon completing my secondary education in Spain, and later pursued my music education at the British College of Benalmadena, where I received an A in music for my IGCSE from the University of Cambridge. Currently, I am in year 13 and have formed a music band with my schoolmates, while also assisting my teacher in creating the school orchestra and choir.

Aside from school, I volunteer at the Cudeca charity shop, which supports cancer patients, and occasionally teach piano. Although the piano is my main instrument, I enjoy experimenting with other instruments such as accordion, guitar, saxophone, omnicord, ocarina, and more. I use Ableton and Musescore for recording my compositions. I also use Adobe Premiere and Adobe Animate to explore the interaction between music and image.
